Roberts International Airport, The Airport needs much needed upgrade to the terminal building. Most of the airport is used for UN peacekeeping mission related flights. There also several commercial carriers from Europe, America and West Africa is flying in to the Airport.

Flash floods have cut off the only road access to Liberia's main airport, forcing travellers to cross some sections by canoe. At certain points the sole road between the capital Monrovia and Roberts International Airport is 1.5 metres underwater. Homes in the area have also been flooded, forcing residents to leave their possessions behind and sleep out in the open. In another area about 8 kilometers from the airport, inhabitants have built shelters on makeshift scaffolding.
The Liberia Airport Authority says the Roberts International Airport is safe and in compliance with all international aviation standards. According to the LAA, airlines flying into Liberia perform regular routine audits of the operations, facilities, safety and security of the airport. Moses Garzeawu reports
